To date, 53 student governments, faculty and university senates, and librarian associations on 44 U.S. college and university campuses have passed resolutions opposing antiterrorism legislation and policies that threaten civil liberties. Now it's time to organize on your campus!

Sample Resolution Clause Library

Our clause library includes sample resolution clauses from other successfully passed student government resolutions. They are divided into preambular and operative clauses, and are organized by objective. We hope you will find this resource useful when formulating your own resolution.

Plays and Street Theater

  • Guantánamo: ‘Honor Bound to Defend Freedom,’ a play created from spoken evidence and letters from British detainees to their families. Learn more about the play and readings that are happening across the country.
  • Café America, a short satirical play about the erosion of civil liberties. Read the script, or purchase a video or DVD of the Sarasota Alliance for Voter Education's performance.
  • Guantanamo Bay's Camp Delta Reenactment. Learn about the reenactment put on by Cornell students to bring attention to the injustices surrounding Guantanamo Bay.
  • A Fort Collins, Colorado group, Strength Through Peace, performed a remarkable piece of street theatre, starring George (Bush), Dick (Cheney) and Ken (Colorado Senator Salazar), which is available on video. The script for the street theatre (MS Word) may be used by student groups.
